There is only one more Supernatural season set to be released and then, the show will wrap up after no less than 15 years of being on air! However, actor Jensen Ackles, who plays Dean Winchester says the story is never really going to be over!
This is the complete opposite of what executive producer Andrew Dabb stated while at the 2019 Television Critics Association summer press tour.
‘We’re looking at this as a true ending. And in a true ending, people cannot keep coming back over and over…They are going to be facing life or death…This time it is for real,’ he dished.
But, during the panel, Jensen mentioned that, as far as he is concerned, the beloved characters are just going away for a while and will one day come back!
‘I think they will continue to move forward, but this is just a longer journey that I do not think is ever going to be over. I think we are just going to go away for a while. How long? I do not know. Look I am not ever ready to close doors or burn bridges, I think that is foolish.’
When asked if there was already a revival, or spin-off being planned, the actor stated that it was not the case.
However, he made it very clear that he is open to it in the future. ‘Am I saying that I’d be open having a conversation about this in the future? What’s the harm in that.’
That is great news for the diehard fans who have been keeping up with the show since the beginning, or at least for a long time.
It must be really difficult to see it end after being in their lives for so many years.
The final season’s set to premiere on CW, on October 10!
